Acupuncture
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is the main medical framework in Eastern Medicine, where Acupuncture is most commonly known. The treatments focuses on the alignments of elements in TCM, such as Qi and Blood flow, organ dysfunction, meridians and other TCM conditions. Acupuncture has shown to have amazing results in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions (types of arthritis, tendoniitis, muscle spasms/tightness), stress and anxiety disorders and pain management, therefore acupuncture can help treat or manage in both western and Chinese medicine.
At Salus Chiroprctic Clinic, we offer both traditional Chinese Medicine and western medicine types of acupuncture, either as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with other modalities i.e Chiropractic. We only use single-use needles.

Remedial Massage Therapy
Massage is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body = the muscles, tendons and ligaments. It works through the various body systems in one of two ways, a mechanical action and a reflex action.A mechanical action is created by moving the muscles and soft tissues of the body using pressure and stretching movement, thereby cleansing them of acids and deposits. This mechanical action breaks up fibrous tissue and loosens stiff joints.
A reflex is created when treatment of one part of the body affects another part of the body, much like pressing a light switch to turn on a light in the centre of the room. Just like this electric connection, so too are different parts of the body connected to each other, not just by flesh and bone, but by nerve pathways, or flows of energy known as 'meridians'. By using reflex action, some therapists will treat a patient's stomach complaint by massaging the arms, and will alleviate pain in the legs by massaging the lower back.
Fees
There are no lock in contracts or pre-paid plans. We have a HICAPs machine available for quick on the spot claims from participating health funds. This means you only need to pay the 'gap' for consultation when using your private health insurance.
